The book’s opening chapter on the Dodge brothers sets the scene, but it is when the story runs into the mid ’50s — the dawn of the Flight Sweep cars — that the book really takes off.

And, for those into cars on film, Grist also looks at some very famous Dodges — such as the Bullitt Charger, the Dukes of Hazzard’s General Lee and The Vanishing Point Challengers.

A good book let down somewhat by clumsy design.
