isPermaLink="false">http://www.classiccar.co.nz/?p=12636#comment-879</guid> <description>Hi, interesting VW, when I was an apprentice in PN in 1961, an english tradesman, a Geof Brown emigrated to NZ, with his 46 VW, he was a military policeman stationed in Germany immediatly after the war,where he obtained the VW, he said it was assembled in the then damaged factory, partly from pre-war bits, the factory was making tank parts during the war, apparantly.
He sold the car to my sister, who kept it for a few years, in Aoketere, PN, we fixed some door rust, tacking on new lower sheetmetal,&amp; I recall the car was originally painted in military grey-green under a later red.
The car had a backealight  dash, crash box, wth 16&quot; wheels&amp; cable brakes. it was plain jane trim even by 61 standards.
