The battle between the Auckland City Council and the Western Springs Speedway has flared up once again, with the Council threatening to shut the old raceway down.
Back in 2004 similar moves were made by the Council which resulted in a march and a petition that raised approx 56,000 signatures in support of the speedway.
The current council has invalidated that petition leaving Speedway enthusiasts no choice but to start a new one.
The Western Springs Speedway Club has an online petition going. It’s a quick process and if you want to sign it click on the link below to go to the Speedway website. If you live anywhere near the Speedway you might choose not to.
