News: Tasman Revival at the NZ Festival of Motor Racing

By winning all three MSC New Zealand F5000 Tasman Cup Revival Series races at last weekend’s NZ Festival of Motor Racing at Hampton Downs, former champion Ken Smith (Lola T332) could hardly have wished for a better return to the MSC New Zealand F5000 Tasman Cup Revival Series.

But if anything, the wily veteran’s performance in his freshly rebuilt Lola has served only to increase the motivation for closest rivals Steve Ross, the McRae GM1-driving defending series champion from Dunedin, and former Speedway champion and NZV8 front-runner, Clark Proctor, who was the quickest qualifier at last weekend’s meeting in his March 73A-1.

With 25 cars qualifying and close, exciting racing, this weekend there are three more with only slight changes to the field.

If you couldn’t make it last weekend, be sure you catch the action at Hampton Downs this weekend.
