Cruisin Coffins

American man builds one-off coffins for dead petrol heads

When it comes to coffins, you never really think about them much, till it becomes the job of someone else to sort out. But today you might because an American man has started a company that specialises in caskets for the dead petrol head rolling off to the big garage in the sky.

Danny Mendez’s Crusin’ Caskets offers fibreglass coffins with a hinged-top and upholstered interior and buyers can customise everything from the color to the type of rims.

Mendez’s website only shows the Mercury-shaped casket but apparently other shapes can be custom ordered. Just imagine cruisin’ to heaven in a ’68 GTO or a ’69 Mustang fastback. Doesn’t sound too bad at all.
