Jon Kosmoski, founder of House of Kolor, was in New Zealand recently and painted one lucky competition winners car while he was here. The winner was named Tony and his second generation Camaro was chosen by Jon as he saw it as a ‘personal walk down memory lane’ and it gave him the opportunity to once again paint one of these fantastic cars. As you can see in the images, the difference before and after is very impressive. In front of a packed class room full of automotive painters Jon transformed the car from primer through to stunning Candy apple red.
As well as the step by step demonstration, Jon shared with the audience his many lessons learned from half a century in the paint game. At 71 years old Jon impressed many by his speed as well as the lengths he went to, to ensure a perfect finish.
As well as painting the vehicle, Jon’s insight and knowledge was well received by those who attended his seminars, as were his many personal stories. Jon is a real character, and since founding House Of Kolor has had a huge influence over the entire vehicle repainting scene.
