Heyndyk 2500SF reinvents old Porsche 944s

The latest example of kit car madness is the Heynsdyk 2500SF from Holland. It’s a fully bespoke body placed over the engine, electronics, and drivetrain of a Porsche 944. The substantially lighter body, in galvanized steel, takes weight down to just 900 kilograms while a perfect 50/50 weight distribution has been maintained. There are six engine choices, from a basic 2.5-liter four-cylinder with 163 horsepower, to a 2.5-liter four-pot S-motor with a turbo. That one will get you 250 horsepower, and from 0 to 100 in six seconds. Top speed is limited to 250 kilometers per hour.

You can buy the car as a kit or a turn key product, with pricing starting at €14,750 for the kit, or €36,995 for a finished vehicle. It’s not the most beautiful car to ever hit the streets but it’s not without some charm either. Have a look for yourselves in the gallery below.
