Turners Auctions is giving Kiwis another chance to live the high life with 20 high-class cars coming to auction in the last Prestige Auction of the year.
The collection of vehicles is estimated to be worth $2 million and features the pinnacle of prestige motoring, a Rolls Royce Phantom, as well as some of the world’s most exotic supercars.
“The 20 cars on offer represent the finest brands in motoring and would make a great buy for anyone looking for a vehicle with flair and distinction,” says Graeme Roberts, Turners CEO.
“Six of the vehicles are convertible and would be perfect for a sophisticated summer road trip.”
The 2003 Rolls Royce Phantom is in mint condition and is expected to fetch between $240,000 and $300,000 at auction, far below the $1 million price tag that it was bought for in 2003.
Another striking vehicle up for grabs is the 2008 Bentley Continental GT. This six-litre, 12 cylinder stunner has a meagre 15,000km on the clock and would be a great addition to the garage this Christmas.
For those who live life in the fast lane, the 2004 Ferrari 360 Modena F1 is the perfect toy. The convertible looks brilliant in black and can turn even the most mundane commute into a thrilling joyride.
The 90’s will be remembered for many things, the Spice Girls, Forest Gump and Jonah Lomu, but it was also when Lamborghini unleashed the Diablo. Turners has a stunning example of a 1997 Diablo VT Roadster. The 5.7 Litre, V12 manual is in immaculate condition and is one of only eight VT all wheel drive roadsters in the world.

This coming Saturday, Turners Auctions will sell some seriously high-class metal at their Penrose, Auckland, branch.
Featuring two Rolls Royce Phantoms, three Porsche Carreras, and a host of rare luxury vehicles, Turners is describing the catalogue for its upcoming prestige auction on the 11th September as their most prestigious yet.
The centrepiece of the auction catalogue is a 2003 Rolls Royce Phantom; bought brand new in 2003 for $1,000,000 this car is one of only three in New Zealand and is estimated to sell for upwards of $300,000.
“We’re pretty stunned with the prestige collection we have up for auction this time around, and the 2003 Rolls Royce Phantom is the pinnacle of every luxury car-lover’s aspirations. We expect interest in this car to be extremely high, both here and overseas,” says Graham Roberts, Chief Executive at Turners Auctions.
The other Rolls Royce Phantom going under the hammer is a classic 1967 model (main picture), which was once one of the Lord Mayor of London’s official town cars. This stunning piece of motoring history is a collector’s dream, and is expected to fetch between $75,000 and $100,000 under the hammer.
Another highly iconic entry up for grabs is the 1971 Mercedes-Benz 600 Landaulet. A vehicle of choice with the much-loved playboy Hugh Hefner, this example was originally built as a hardtop, but was subsequently converted to the rarer soft-top ‘Landaulet’ model at great expense by a very determined owner.
Another star on offer is a very rare 1989 Lamborghini LM002. One of only 25 in the world, this 5.2L V12 beast was designed and built for the Italian Army and would be perfect for anyone who wants to make a statement. The car has been through a leg of the Thailand Gumball 3,000 with a disused AK47 mounted on its back, a throwback to its unsuccessful military career.

A classic example of American motoring grunt is set to go under the hammer at Turners Auctions this Thursday evening (22 July).
In pristine condition, and with only 60,282 miles on the clock, this 1982 Chevrolet Corvette is a true collector’s item, complete with Collector’s Edition badges and wheels.
Believed to be one of only three in New Zealand, it is expected to sell for between $28,000 and $32,000.
Jade Stevenson, Branch Manager at Turners Auctions Napier, says the car is expected to attract huge interest from collectors and classic car lovers all around New Zealand.
“Chevrolet only produced 6,759 of these cars worldwide, so to have one in such pristine condition is a very rare find indeed. The silver-beige paint job is very cool too, not to mention the whopping great 5.7 litre V8 engine,” says Jade.
