What a Fantastic car !! So true to old 300SL in shape. I got to inspect and sit in one,the other day,at $450,000, it would be wasted here in New Zealand,as a daily road car. Felt funny getting out of it with the door above your head. The old 300SL (1954 on) use to dump the rain water on your head and lap when the door went up.New ones have a better design in the hinge area.More room in the cabin now ,and the steering wheel doesnt hinge down for entry.All leather interior(Red and Black),old 300SL had Tarten in red and black cloth.My dream car in the 1950s. With the right diff ratios, 146 MPH was possible, on 4 inch tires. And then there was the 300SLR…………
